***Apply within 5 days of arrival

Visit the Folkeregisteret (National Registry) office to apply for a CPR number, a unique number assigned to you which is essential, as it is requested for most paperwork in Denmark. The office location depends on the neighborhood which you reside in.

Find out the location and opening hours of your office by calling Citizen´s Service at 3366-3366 from Mon-Fri: 08:00-18:00.

Required documents for CPR application

  • passport with work permit
  • proof of employment (letter from University)
  • proof of residency (copy of rental contract)
  • any other potentially relevant documentation.

Once you have applied for a CPR card you will be assigned a general medical practitioner in your area, who will be listed on your card.

Note: If you move, notify the immigration office of your new address within 5 days. You will automatically receive an updated CPR card and doctor within your area.
