Set up Bank Account in Denmark

Once you have your CPR number, you will need to have a NemKonto (Easy Account).

 

NemKonto is a public payment system that enables the authorities to transfer money to you. Ask for colleague opinions of Merkur Bank2, Danske Bank, Nordea and other banks. Required documents (bank requirements may vary): CPR letter, employment contract, passport.

It is advisable to apply immediately for a Dankort/Visa Card in addition to the debit card you will receive, as many vendors do not accept ordinary debit cards and the credit card can be useful when you travel.
