Case studies in natural resource management
The case study course aims to develop the abilities of PhD students who enter the field of social sciences with a natural science background.
Date: 1 March – 1 September 2011. 7,5 ECTS.
The course plan is developed with a view to providing the PhD students with knowledge on the most common approaches to case study designs and associated methods. It also has the aim to provide them with opportunities to discuss and compare case studies with other research designs.
In addition, the course will incorporate perspectives from the philosophies of science in the research design, it will facilitate discussions to broaden the perspective of case study research and deepen the understanding of the consequences of research design decisions.
