Planning and Management System for the St Petersburg Forest Greenbelt

The project has the 142,500 ha Forest Park Zone of St Petersburg, Russia as its main focus. Together with local stakeholders a strategy for this important multifunctional ressource is developed.

 

This work is supported by the elaboration of an information system (GIS) to support forest planning and management. Awareness raising is undertaken, recreational facilities are improved, and a demonstration forest for training of forestry staff and students is established.
