Research in Forest and Ecology
The research comprises:
Our research covers a wide range of natural science based questions and methods concerning the interaction of environment/ecology, genetics and manipulation of forest and nature areas. We seek a basic understanding of ecosystem and plant interactions and functioning.
We raise empirical questions and conduct casestudies ranging from gene mapping, nutrient cycling to entire forest ecosystems from virgin forests to highly regulated production systems applying a range of scientific methods and techniques.
In addition we use and develop a wide range of statistical sampling and modelling methods, analysis of data from a unique range of field experiments, national monitoring, laboratory analyses and remote sensing data.
Our knowledge and methods form the basis of balanced and sustainable protection and usage in applied forest and nature management.
